Help us provide support for women who need breast reconstructions after breast cancer.
The Treasure Chest Inc is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. We raise funds to assist women who are on waiting lists for breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery.
Currently a woman who has her breasts removed because she has cancer or has a genetic risk of developing breast cancer has a considerable wait until she can have a breast reconstruction. Breast reconstruction is a very low priority in the public health system. The Treasure Chest Committee is raising funds to assist women who are waiting for breast reconstruction in Victoria’s Public Health System. Breast reconstruction in the public health system is a very low priority and Treasure chest are looking at ways to assist in increasing the capacity. Currently, Treasure Chest is working with Professor Bruce Mann Director of Shared Breast Service as well as Specialist Breast Surgeon & Surgical Oncologist with Assoc Professor Mark Ashton Head of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital to increase capacity in the Shared Breast Service of the Royal Women’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals.

Upcoming Events
Treasure Chest had an exciting fund raising year planned for 2012. Our annual Spring luncheon will once again be a highlight of our program with a focus on fashion, health and beauty, great food and a glass (or two) of bubbly – all to be enjoyed in the company of a wonderful group of like-minded men & women who care about our cause and help us in our quest to change the lives of women in need of reconstructive surgery.
In addition, we our proud to introduce two new and exciting events - Treasure Chest ‘Concert Series’ and our inaugural ‘Men with Breast Intentions’ dinner.
The Treasure Chest Concert Series. We are planning a series of concerts with various classical and jazz musicians accompanied by an art exhibition at each event. The emphasis is on up-and-coming young artists giving them a forum to showcase their skills before a live audience. See below for further details of all our events for 2012.
